Minerva API Terms of Service
Effective Date: December 30th, 2025
By accessing or using the Minerva API ("API"), you agree to be bound by these API Terms of Service ("API
Terms") in addition to our general Terms and Conditions. These API Terms govern your use of the Minerva API
and related services.
1. API License and Access
Minerva grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the API
solely for your own internal business purposes or personal use, subject to these API Terms and any
applicable pricing plan.
2. API Key Management
- Confidentiality: Your API key(s) are confidential credentials. You are solely
responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of your API keys.
- No Sharing: API key sharing, distribution, or disclosure to third parties is strictly
prohibited. Each user or organization must obtain their own API access.
- Security Breach: You must immediately notify Minerva if you suspect any unauthorized
use or security breach related to your API key.
- Responsibility: You are fully responsible for all activities that occur using your API
key, whether authorized or unauthorized.
3. Commercial Use and Attribution
3.1 Commercial Use Permitted
You may use the Minerva API for commercial purposes, including:
- Integrating API results into your own products, dashboards, or services
- Reselling access to Minerva data through your own pricing models
- Proxying or wrapping the API for your customers
- Building OSINT platforms, aggregator tools, or research services powered by Minerva
3.2 Attribution Requirement
All commercial integrations must provide attribution to Minerva OSINT:
- API Response Fields: You may not remove, obscure, or modify any
_source,
attribution, or similar metadata fields included in API responses
- User-Facing Attribution: Display "Powered by Minerva OSINT" with a link to https://minervaosint.com in a reasonably visible location
(footer, about page, or report metadata)
- No Misrepresentation: You may not claim to be Minerva, imply official partnership
status, or misrepresent the source of the data
3.3 API Key Security
- Your API key(s) are confidential credentials that you are responsible for securing
- You are fully responsible for all usage and charges incurred using your API key, whether by you or third
parties accessing through your service
- You must implement appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access to your API keys
3.4 Enterprise Partnerships
High-volume resellers or those requiring custom rate limits, dedicated infrastructure, or bulk pricing
discounts should contact us via our contact form to discuss enterprise arrangements.
4. Service Availability and Uptime
- No Uptime Guarantee: Minerva does not guarantee 100% API availability or uptime. The
API is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
- Maintenance and Outages: Minerva reserves the right to perform scheduled maintenance,
updates, or emergency repairs that may temporarily interrupt API access.
- No Compensation: You acknowledge that API outages, errors, downtime, or reduced
performance do not entitle you to refunds, credits, or any form of compensation unless explicitly stated
in a separate Service Level Agreement (SLA).
- Rate Limiting: Minerva may implement rate limits, throttling, or other technical
restrictions to ensure fair usage and system stability.
5. Account Termination and Suspension
- Right to Terminate: Minerva reserves the right to suspend, terminate, revoke, or ban
your API key(s) and access at any time, for any reason, with or without notice, including but not
limited to:
- Violation of these API Terms or our general Terms and Conditions
- Abusive, excessive, or fraudulent usage patterns
- Security concerns or suspected malicious activity
- Non-payment or chargebacks
- At Minerva's sole discretion for operational or business reasons
- No Refunds: API key termination or suspension does not entitle you to refunds of any
fees paid or unused API credits, except where required by law.
- Data Access: Upon termination, your access to the API and any associated data will be
immediately revoked.
6. Usage Restrictions and Prohibited Activities
In addition to the prohibited uses outlined in our general Terms and Conditions, you specifically agree not
to:
- Exceed your allocated API request limits or attempt to bypass rate limiting mechanisms
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the API
- Use the API for illegal purposes, harassment, spam, or to violate the privacy rights of individuals
- Attempt to overwhelm, destabilize, or perform denial-of-service attacks against Minerva infrastructure
- Use the API to collect, harvest, or scrape data in violation of applicable laws or third-party rights
- Misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or the source of API requests
7. API Credits and Billing
- Credit System: API access is provided on a credit-based system. Each API request
consumes credits according to your pricing plan.
- No Expiration: Unless otherwise stated in your specific plan, API credits do not
expire.
- Non-Refundable: All API credit purchases are final and non-refundable, except where
required by law.
- Pricing Changes: Minerva reserves the right to modify pricing, credit costs per
request, or rate limits at any time with reasonable notice to existing users.
- Payment Disputes: Chargebacks or payment disputes may result in immediate account
suspension and permanent ban from future API access.
8. Data Usage and Privacy
- Query Logging: Minerva may log API requests, queries, and usage patterns for security,
analytics, debugging, and service improvement purposes.
- No Personal Guarantees: While Minerva strives for data accuracy, we do not guarantee
the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or timeliness of API responses.
- User Responsibility: You are responsible for ensuring your use of API data complies
with all applicable privacy laws, regulations, and third-party rights.
- Privacy Policy: Your use of the API is also governed by Minerva's Privacy Policy, which
is incorporated by reference.
9. Intellectual Property
- All intellectual property rights in the API, API documentation, and related materials remain the
exclusive property of Minerva.
- API responses and data provided through the API are licensed to you for limited use only and do not
grant you ownership rights.
- You may not remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notices, trademarks, or branding associated with
the API.
10. Limitation of Liability
- TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MINERVA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL,
SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE API.
- MINERVA'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS RELATED TO THE API SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR API
ACCESS IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
- You acknowledge that the API may contain bugs, errors, or inaccuracies, and Minerva disclaims all
warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Minerva, its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents
from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees)
arising from:
- Your use or misuse of the API
- Your violation of these API Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights, including privacy or intellectual property rights
- Unauthorized access or use of your API key by third parties due to your failure to maintain security
12. API Modifications and Deprecation
- Minerva reserves the right to modify, update, deprecate, or discontinue any aspect of the API at any
time.
- We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of breaking changes or API deprecation, but
are not obligated to do so.
- Continued use of the API after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated API.
13. Support and Documentation
- API documentation is provided for your convenience but may not be comprehensive or up-to-date.
- Minerva is not obligated to provide technical support unless specified in a separate paid support
agreement.
- Community or free-tier users may receive limited or no support.
14. Monitoring and Enforcement
- Minerva reserves the right to monitor API usage, enforce rate limits, and investigate potential
violations of these API Terms.
- We may use automated systems to detect abuse, fraud, or prohibited activities.
- Violation reports may be investigated, and appropriate action will be taken at Minerva's sole
discretion.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These API Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable to Minerva's
jurisdiction, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these API Terms or
your use of the API shall be resolved in accordance with the dispute resolution procedures outlined in our
general Terms and Conditions.
16. Severability
If any provision of these API Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining
provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
17. Entire Agreement
These API Terms, together with our general Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, constitute the entire
agreement between you and Minerva regarding your use of the API and supersede all prior agreements and
understandings.
18. Changes to These API Terms
Minerva reserves the right to modify these API Terms at any time. We will update the "Effective Date" at the
top of this document when changes are made. Your continued use of the API after changes are posted
constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
